The Dusa BLU-U is a professional phototherapy unit that uses blue light to treat skin conditions like mild to moderate actinic keratosis and moderate to severe acne. It functions as part of a photodynamic therapy (PDT) by being used in combination with a light-activated drug, such as Levulan® Kerastick™ (aminolevulinic acid). This treatment requires a physician's order and involves a period of sun avoidance afterward.
